This type of pump can be used as a self-priming pump, but its price is too high. Does anyone know anything about this?
Depending on the operating conditions, this type of pump has self-priming capability; it creates a vacuum through a small clearance between the rotors in order to draw in the fluid. But if the medium cannot be drawn in within a few minutes, the rotor will experience wear. Personally, I think that although it has self-priming capability, it’s still advisable to fill the pump if possible.
It is recommended to find a manufacturer or distributor and present your requirements to them; they will provide you with assistance regarding the technical aspects of the equipment. If existing pumps are to be used, it is necessary to check, based on your actual site data and the operating conditions of those pumps, whether they are suitable for replacement.
Without pumping, prolonged operation will only lead to damage of the mechanical seal; there is no wear between the rotors, but there can be random scraping and grinding
It can be used as a self-priming pump, but rotary pump flow rates are generally not high, and the outlet pressure is not very high either; please choose based on the process parameters
