Centrifugal pump journal corrosion problem help

A heat transfer oil pump, rotating speed is 1150, pitting corrosion pits appear in the BDB bearing journal. I am really confused. No corrosive medium is found, and there is no abnormality in the lubricating oil. Please help me with the analysis.
Is that place where the oil seal is installed? Is there any hard gold overlay welding on that part of the shaft?
Looks more like an intentionally designed non-machined surface than corrosion
This position is the journal, which is used to install bearings. It is not designed to be like this. It is very difficult to understand how it is caused.
What should I put in the smooth place underneath? , that place is not equipped with bearings? Are the bearings installed in this corroded area? Do I need to install a sleeve inside to position the bearing?
