After running for a month, the magnetic pump produced abnormal noises; upon disassembly, it was found that the threads on the pump shaft were broken and the shaft sleeve was damaged. Please analyze and determine the reasons for the pump damage.
Operates at low flow, vibrates and then breaks.
Is it due to low flow for a long period of time, or periods of vacuum, with high temperatures causing an excessive pressure difference? It is also possible that the shaft alignment is too small during assembly. It’s also possible that fatigue or defects occurred during forging.
What about the fracture shape? Perform a metallographic analysis; also, what is the size of this gap?
