The existing pump for transferring slurry from the slurry tank is a submersible pump (with stirring function), but fiber entanglement in the sludge causes frequent clogging of this submersible pump. Since there is no separate pump pit on site, a cam rotor pump has been pre-installed as a temporary measure to maintain production. However, due to the current installation constraints, the inlet section of the rotor pump is located about 5–6 meters below the bottom of the slurry tank. Under such conditions (with a large suction height and viscous material), it is necessary to consider whether it is appropriate to install such a pump and what issues need to be taken into account.
