Our company has recently installed a new unit unloading system; the process involves connecting a tank truck using a flexible hose, and then pumping the liquid into the unit storage tank. The hydraulic tests of the two new pumps meet the design requirements, with a flow rate of 20 cubic meters per hour and a head of 80 meters. However, in actual operation, the pump serves no purpose at all; transportation is carried out solely by the pressure difference from the tank truck. After the pump is started, there is no pressure increase (the inlet pressure is 0.3 MPa); the outlet pressure gauge shows 0.3 MPa, there is no flow, and the current reading corresponds to the pump’s no-load current. I hope the experts here can give some guidance! (Pump model IJ65-40-250; the elbow connection size is 50, and the pump inlet pipeline size is 80)

1. Pump operation issues: Are there any return pipes connected to the tank truck? In other words, how many pipes are connected to the tank truck when the pump is used for unloading?
The tank truck is equipped with its own pressure gauge; pressure gauges on the pipeline are installed on the pipeline from the pump outlet to the outlet valve, and a flow meter is installed about 4 meters behind the pump outlet valve.
We also suspected it; everything was normal when it was disassembled on site
