What is the reason for this phenomenon inside the diffuser?

According to the picture, there are three preliminary reasons for the cracks and partial detachment of the diffuser guide vane: (1) The self-cleaning air filter has low accuracy or reduced performance, which cannot meet the working conditions of the air compressor and cannot effectively filter particles in the air. As a result, larger dust particles enter the centrifuge, are accelerated and hit the first-stage diffuser at high speed, resulting in fatigue damage to the diffuser blades. (2) The external environment of the air compressor station is very dusty and is sucked into the unit through the filter. (3) The material strength of the diffuser is insufficient, which to a certain extent also leads to the possibility of damage: At present, the materials of the diffuser of the centrifuge are mainly stainless steel and aluminum alloy, and the hardness and reliability of the two materials have their own advantages and disadvantages. For example, when I inspected the air compressor stations of Baotou Steel Group, the air compressors that are commonly used include Ingersoll Rand, Fusheng from the United States, Sullair from Japan, Samsung from South Korea, etc. The stage diffusers of air compressors from various manufacturers are also different, and are made of stainless steel, aluminum alloy, cast iron and other materials.
If my judgment is consistent with the actual situation, it is recommended to take the following measures: (1) Check the air compressor inlet filter performance parameters if planned or when the filter pressure difference exceeds 10” (254mm) H2O =2500 Pa pressure. (2) Install DV filter cloth on the coarse filter net of the self-cleaning air filter to increase its coarse filtration effect and prevent rainwater from entering the air compressor population filter. (3) Regularly check the air compressor inlet filter housing and air intake pipe, and promptly repair and deal with air leakage parts. (4) Select or replace a diffuser with a high-strength design to resist the impact of foreign objects. (5) Strictly follow * * The standard purchase of self-cleaning air filter cartridges ensures filtration accuracy and efficiency; all filter cartridges are regularly replaced every year to ensure that the performance of the filter cartridge meets the requirements.
This kind of thing should not happen. A filter only costs a few dollars, and the diffuser is a key component of the centrifugal compressor.

High inlet pressure and high temperature. Pumps with gray water have this phenomenon. Related to cavitation high-speed erosion
