1. Operation and maintenance of rotary vane vacuum pumps a. Starting the pump Before starting, check whether the cooling water for the water-cooled pump is connected; when the ambient temperature is low, the pulley can be manually rotated to allow the oil in the pump chamber to flow back into the oil tank. Then press the motor button to supply power, making sure the power connection direction is correct and that the pump rotates in the right direction. b. Precautions for pump operation: Check whether the amount of oil in the pump is around the oil level mark; when opening the valves of the system to be pumped, do so slowly to prevent excessive oil leakage. During operation, pay attention to any abnormal noises or impacts, as well as any increase in the pump’s oil temperature. If local overheating occurs, stop the pump immediately to avoid pump jamming or wear. c. Precautions for stopping the pump: When stopping the pump, it is necessary to release air from the pump inlet (most purchased units are equipped with automatic air release valves); cut off the water supply after powering down the pump. Maintenance of rotary vane pumps. The common faults of rotary vane vacuum pumps include the following: ① Decreased vacuum level; ② The pump fails to operate properly, or even gets stuck; ③ Excessive noise and abnormal sounds during operation; ④ Poor sealing of the pump body, resulting in oil leakage; ⑤ A large amount of oil droplets and mist are emitted during startup, contaminating the environment; ⑥ Difficulty in starting the pump.
