On July 12, the 600,000-ton/year propylene oxide project of Sinochem Tianchen Quanzhou, located in the Quangang Petrochemical Park in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, officially commenced construction. The project adopts the HPPO process and is constructed in two phases, with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons in Phase 1 and 300,000 tons in Phase 2. The project is scheduled to be completed by June 30 next year, with product production starting on September 30. Propylene and hydrogen produced by Guoheng Chemical (Taiwan’s Guoqiao Petrochemical) within the same industrial park will serve as raw materials for this project. The propylene produced here can meet the demand for propylene from various companies in the vicinity, such as Tianjiao Chemical, Jiahua Chemical, and Zhongshan Chemical, thus filling in a crucial link in the carbon trio industry chain of the Quangang Petrochemical Park. Last October, the Tianchen Quangang New Materials Industrial Park, for which China Tianchen Engineering, a subsidiary of China National Chemical Engineering Corporation, invested 15 billion yuan, was established in the Quangang Petrochemical Park. This industrial park is planned to feature facilities for producing 600,000 tons per year of propylene oxide, 200,000 tons per year of nylon 66, and 100,000 tons per year of nylon 12; upon completion, its output value is expected to reach 21 billion yuan. The total investment in Fuhua Tianchen Gas Co., Ltd.’s large-scale gasification project is 2.85 billion yuan. The project will be constructed in the Jiangyin Industrial Cluster in Fuqing, Fuzhou City, and it will involve the construction of a facility capable of producing 690,000 tons of ammonia per year. By utilizing coal water slurry gasification technology, the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of December 2020. Once completed, it will supply basic chemical raw materials such as hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and liquid ammonia to various enterprises located in the Jiangyin Chemical Park, including Fujian Southeast Electrochemical Co., Ltd. for its new TDI production facility, Fujian Cornell Polyurethane Co., Ltd. for its MDI production facility, and Fujian Tianchen Yaolong New Materials Co., Ltd. for its new CPL production facility.
