Hubei Jinjiang New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. plans to invest 26 billion yuan in the Jiangling New Energy and New Materials Industrial Park to establish a new industrial park for low-carbon products made from coal, salt, and alkali. On August 12, major projects for the third quarter in Jingzhou City began construction simultaneously. The key project, the Hubei Jinjiang New Materials Project, officially commenced construction in Jiangling County. The basic preliminary work at the project site, such as land leveling and surveying, has been largely completed.
The project is constructed in two phases; the first phase requires an investment of 15 billion yuan to build facilities capable of producing 600,000 tons of synthetic ammonia per year, 2.4 million tons of soda ash, 400,000 tons of sodium nitrate and sodium nitrite, 1.9 million tons of ammonium chloride, 2 million tons of industrial salt, and 60,000 tons of melamine. Phase II covers an area of 1,200 mu, and is designed to produce 600,000 tons of synthetic ammonia per year, 2.4 million tons of soda ash, 400,000 tons of sodium nitrate and sodium nitrite, 1.9 million tons of ammonium chloride (including compound fertilizers), 2 million tons of industrial salt, and 60,000 tons of melamine.
In June this year, the Jingzhou Ecology and Environment Bureau published a public notice on the environmental impact assessment for the coal, salt, and alkali low-carbon product industrial park project of Hubei Jinjiang New Materials Company. The project uses coal as raw material; the Jinhua furnace is used for water-coal slurry gasification to produce raw gas. The raw gas is purified through shift reaction and low-temperature methanol washing, and the purified gas is further refined by liquid nitrogen washing before being sent to ammonia synthesis. The acidic gases generated by acid gas removal are sent to a sulfur recovery unit to produce sulfuric acid. For some products, liquid ammonia is sent to the caustic soda/sodium bicarbonate plant, as well as the melamine and double salts plant, where heavy alkalis, sodium bicarbonate, melamine, sodium nitrite, and sodium nitrate are produced. The ammonium chloride produced by the double-alkali plant is sent to the granulation unit and the NPK compound fertilizer plant.

Throughout the Jianghan Plain, perhaps only Jianli and Honghu remain clean – hold on.
