The carbon dioxide stripping tower is one of the four core high-pressure equipment units in urea production plants; it is a patented device owned by China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd., and its manufacture is carried out by Dalian Jinzhou Heavy Machinery Group Co., Ltd. The tube section of this equipment has a diameter of 2.9 meters; the inner diameter of the liquid distributor box is 3.08 meters, with a height of 15.44 meters. Its net weight is 254 tons, making it the third heaviest vertical equipment in the urea plant. The successful lifting and installation of the carbon dioxide stripping tower marks the official commencement of the lifting and installation of the four high-pressure units, which represent the key control points in the urea production facility. At 3:28 p.m. on March 29, the first large-scale low-temperature tower in the low-temperature methanol washing section of the 40·60 project at Xin Hengsheng Company – the hydrogen sulfide concentration tower – was successfully lifted and aligned. The equipment to be lifted this time is a hydrogen sulfide concentration tower. The tower has a diameter of 3.8 meters, a height of 74.23 meters, and a net weight of 136 tons. Its body is made of 321 stainless steel, and it operates at temperatures ranging from –35 to –65°C. Its main function is to concentrate hydrogen sulfide in the methanol-rich solution, while also extracting carbon dioxide emissions for washing in the exhaust gas water scrubber; it is one of the key equipment in the low-temperature methanol washing unit. The total investment for New Hengsheng Company’s 40.60 project is 4.97 billion yuan; the project is located in the Suhua area of the Economic Development Zone in Xinyi City, Jiangsu Province. In the first phase of the project, Shaohang Maiwei gasification furnaces and a fluidized bed pressurized continuous gasification process are used, enabling an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, 600,000 tons of urea, and 33,800 tons of concentrated sulfuric acid.
