Design work begins for Henan Longyu’s 100,000-ton oxalic acid project 2025-11-03 On October 31, the design phase for Henan Longyu Coal Chemical Co., Ltd.’s (hereinafter referred to as “Longyu Coal Chemical”) project to produce 100,000 tons of oxalic acid per year began at the Liaoyang branch of China Kunlun Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Liaoyang branch”). Xie Feidong, the main person in charge of Longyu Coal Chemical, its general manager, deputy secretary of the Party committee, and vice chairman, as well as Feng Shuo, secretary of the Party committee of the Liaoyang branch, attended the meeting. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on specific issues such as the overall layout of the project, the connection points for utility services, and the relocation of the original ethylene glycol hazardous materials warehouse. It is understood that Longyu Coal Chemical’s project for producing 100,000 tons of oxalic acid per year relies primarily on the materials and utility systems available in the company’s ethylene glycol production facility; oxalic acid is manufactured through the hydrolysis reaction of dimethyl oxalate, which is an intermediate product of ethylene glycol production. After the project is implemented, it will further diversify the product portfolio of Longyu Coal Chemicals and enhance the company’s core competitiveness. Hou Liutao, the chief engineer of Longyu Coal Chemical, Wu Dayong, a senior expert, Wang Hongbing and Jiang Zerei, the deputy general managers of the Liaoyang branch, attended the meeting.
