It was believed that the project broke through foreign technical blockades, filled domestic gaps, and the overall technical level reached the international advanced level. “"Complete set of technologies for kiloton-level para-aramid industrialization demonstration device" is one of Sinopec Corporation's "Ten Dragons" scientific and technological research projects. Under the organization and coordination of the Science and Technology Department of Sinopec Corporation, Yizheng Chemical Fiber has worked hard to tackle key problems and pioneered and innovated. After 16 years, it has completed small-scale research, pilot scale-up and industrial scale-up. The innovation process of chemical production has made breakthroughs in key core technologies such as polymerization, spinning, and engineering amplification, and formed a complete set of para-aramid fiber technologies with independent intellectual property rights. This is of great significance to the development of my country's para-aramid fiber industry and provides strong technical support for the structural transformation and industrial development of Sinopec.
Aramid fiber is the abbreviation of aromatic polyamide fiber. Together with carbon fiber and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber, it is known as the three major high-performance fibers. It is widely used in national defense and civilian industries and is a strategic material for a strong country and military. Aramid fiber has excellent properties such as ultra-high strength, high modulus, high temperature resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance, and light weight. The body armor made of aramid fiber weighs only 1.5kg, and its strength to withstand and disperse the energy of bullets and shrapnel is several times higher than that of steel plates. It can resist continuous fire from light machine guns, not to mention pistol and shotgun bullets, and is invulnerable.
On November 20, 2019, Yizheng Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd.'s "Thousand-ton Para-aramid Industrialization Demonstration Device" project, for which CNNC Huawei Company was responsible for process package development and engineering design, successfully passed the appraisal of Sinopec Group Corporation. After reviewing materials, on-site inspections, and viewing physical samples, experts unanimously believed that the project broke through the foreign technology blockade, filled the domestic gap, and the overall technical level reached the internationally advanced level. Huawei Company has a long-standing relationship with aramid. As early as 2007, Huawei Company completed the feasibility study report, basic design and construction drawings of the "100-ton para-aramid fiber device". Since 2011, Huawei Company has worked with Sinopec and equipment manufacturers to carry out a feasibility study on 100-ton aramid fiber. After several years, by summarizing the technical experience of 100-ton aramid fiber, continuously discussing and analyzing, organizing multiple demonstrations and review meetings, it finally formed a 1000-ton aramid process package with its own intellectual property rights. The process equipment is all domestically produced, and the process technology is a disruptive innovation and breakthrough compared to 100-ton aramid technology.
In 2017, the construction of a kiloton-level aramid device started, and the project was listed as one of Sinopec’s “Ten Dragons” scientific and technological projects. Due to the innovative and advanced nature of project technology, there are many technical difficulties during project implementation. As a participant in the process package development and engineering design unit of the project, Huawei Company attaches great importance to it and mobilizes elite personnel to form a project team to focus on quality and promotion. The project team worked hard and worked hard to overcome the project difficulties one by one. At the same time, in order to ensure the design quality, the project team members stayed on site for a long time to provide technical services, and finally completed the design of the 1,000-ton aramid device with high quality. In October 2019, the project completed a 72-hour performance assessment. During the assessment, the output and quality of polymeric powder and para-aramid filament, the material and energy consumption of the device, utility consumption and safety, environmental protection and occupational health all met the design goals, and the product performance reached the advanced level of similar international products. This marks that the thousand-ton aramid device designed by Huawei Company has passed the trial operation and has officially entered the operation stage.
