On June 25, information regarding the chemical sector of the CNNC Jilin Energy Tongyu Green Hydrogen-based Energy Integration Project was made public. According to the public announcement, the chemical section of the China Nuclear HuiNeng Jilin Energy Tongyu Green Hydrogen-based Energy Integration Project is located in Tongyu County, Baicheng City, Jilin Province. The overall plan for this project is to produce 1.8 million tons per year of green methanol, using advanced hydrogen production technologies via water electrolysis as well as carbon dioxide conversion to produce green methanol; the facilities involved include electrolyzers, power supply systems, control systems, etc. Install hydrogen storage units, gasification furnaces, methanol synthesis units, other auxiliary systems, and supporting facilities. The entity responsible for this project is Tongyu Xiangtong New Energy Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 1,208,178 million yuan. Construction is scheduled to begin in December 2025 and be completed by December 2028.
