This post was last edited by TH373637 on 2015-6-1 14:03. Methanol synthesis rate: 80–90% (monohydric alcohol); 85–95% (glycidol). The main obstacle preventing domestic production of large-scale methanol from advancing is the lack of suitable large compressors, gas purification systems, and large-scale vaporization reactors; moreover, there is a gap in terms of methanol catalysts compared to those available abroad. It is also necessary to scale up domestic production facilities so as to demonstrate their capabilities and give the Chinese people a sense of confidence.
All the great experimental opportunities have been given to others. China has the most large-scale methanol production facilities in the world; before such facilities were established in our country, there wasn’t much production of methanol on a global scale. Many foreign process packages were also brought to us for continuous improvement, and yet the opportunities went to others. If our technology gets the opportunity to be put into practice and continues to improve, it might already be quite sophisticated by now. We hope that industry bodies or relevant departments can introduce incentives and favorable policies to encourage companies to engage in research and development as well as to use such devices; only then can our domestically developed technologies have a chance to make breakthroughs!
For the Luchi water-cooled with gas cooling process, the one-way synthesis rate is 86.5% and the overall conversion rate is 98.7%. Based on my statistics, I consider these to be quite advanced figures
