Steam at 200 degrees Celsius flows inside the steel pipe (made of material 20g), and the outside of the pipe is in contact with sludge containing hydrogen sulfide. How can corrosion of the steel pipe by hydrogen sulfide be prevented? I seek advice from experts.
Cladding can be applied to the inner wall of carbon steel pipes, but this depends on the extent of hydrogen sulfide corrosion – it determines whether it is necessary to incur this additional cost. Also, how is the pressure?
In cases where corrosion conditions are severe and temperatures and pressures are high, cladding is recommended; nickel-based alloys or stainless steel can be cladded on the inner wall of pipes. For pipes larger than 6 inches in diameter, cladding can be applied over lengths of 6 to 12 meters

External wall cladding is also an option; a 60mm diameter is no problem. What is the wall thickness? If it’s too thin, it’s prone to deformation; at least 8mm or more is recommended. I was wondering if considering a coating would be possible; using a coating could help prevent the medium from corroding the substrate.
Whether it’s using coatings or cladding on the steel wall, if the corrosion rate of the pipe wall is high, these two methods can only provide temporary protection and cannot offer long-term safeguarding. The best solutions are to use fluorinated linings or to switch to another type of steel; however, this alternative steel is imported and therefore extremely expensive. Fluorinated lining is still the most cost-effective option.
Personally, I think an anti-corrosion coating should be applied, maybe epoxy glass flake?
