The company requires determination of the nickel content in urea. When preparing a nickel standard curve for measurement, the absorbance values fluctuate greatly; they do not increase in a normal upward trend. Please provide some guidance on the precautions that need to be taken when creating a nickel standard curve! (Note: When preparing 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol, I mistakenly used 100 ml of water instead of alcohol. I didn’t discard that water and then added alcohol directly. Is this related to the issue?)
