What is the typical dew point requirement for low-pressure nitrogen (such as 5 barg or 6 barg) used in various process units?
It seems to be below -40; please advise, experts
The general dew point requirement is 65 degrees
It depends on your requirements. For us, -40 degrees is sufficient; if you have higher demands, -65 degrees is also an option, but it may lead to waste of energy
Is it -40 degrees at operating pressure?
The data provided by the dew point analyzer represent the normal pressure dew point at the local atmospheric pressure. Obviously, different pressures have different dew points; so what is the standard? You say your dew point is -10°C at 0.8 MPa, while mine is -15°C at 0.2 MPa – how is that possible? It can only be a one-size-fits-all approach; it has to be the atmospheric pressure dew point. .
Of course not. You can look into how a dew point analyzer works; as for the technical aspects of such instruments, I’m not very familiar with them either
The dew point at normal pressure is around -40. For special requirements, the dew point can be lowered by adjusting the configuration of the dryer!
