Are there any requirements for the slope of steam pipes? If it is sloped toward the boiler or toward the point where steam is used, at what distance should a drain valve be installed, and at what distance should a U-shaped pipe be used for compensation?
Horizontally installed pipes should have an appropriate slope; when the slope is in the same direction as the steam flow, a slope of i=0.003 should be used, while when it is in the opposite direction to the steam flow, the slope should be increased to i=0.005–0.01. Traps should be installed at the turns and at the ends of the main pipes
The slope should preferably be in the direction of the air flow. Shape compensation is aimed at the thermal expansion of pipes, which is not hydrophobic. In horizontal pipes where there is no lowest point, a drain point must be added every 150 meters of length.
