Due to professional reasons, I was assigned to the catalysis workshop and began learning the distillation tasks related to catalytic units. Everyone knows that the distillation unit plays a pivotal role in catalytic plants, and I feel extremely fortunate to have been assigned to this position. During my apprenticeship under the master, there was another night shift during which the equipment experienced power fluctuations, and adjustments were made at the distillation station as well. After making the adjustments, the experienced craftsmen often use sampling flasks to take samples and visually assess the quality of the products after the adjustments. I was at that time outside the equipment, accompanying the technicians on their inspection rounds, and one of the technicians told me to go back and get a sampling cup to visually inspect the diesel. It was also my first time that the supervisor asked me to collect samples, so I happily ran back to the control room to get the sampling cup. Upon arriving at the control room, without even thinking about it, I took a transparent cup from the window sill there and went outside. Immediately afterwards, diesel was taken to the technician for inspection. As soon as the technician received the cup, he said that the color of the diesel was fine and normal, but the problem was that this cup was actually the one used by the team leader for drinking water. This is troublesome – a new employee who has just been assigned to the workshop has caused such a mess. At that moment, the master took out dish soap and asked me to scrub it clean and put it back in its original place. I completed it as the master instructed, not daring to even put my head back in its original place. Actually, everyone knows that no matter how much it’s scrubbed, the diesel smell remains very strong. Return it to its original place; the technician will arrange for cold boiled water to be poured in. Then I sat far away from the monitor’s water cup, while the instructor sat next to it. At that moment, the squad leader returned from an outside inspection, feeling thirsty; without saying a word, he picked up the cup and downed the liquid in one gulp. The smell wasn’t right, so I went back and used it on my poor master, covering him in it. It seems that this is what is meant by good deeds bringing good rewards and bad deeds bringing bad consequences – it’s not that there is no retribution, it’s just that the time has not yet come. It filled the entire operating room with laughter. Actually, the team leader also guessed that it must have been my mentor who did it, because they had been working together in the team for a year or two by now, and they knew each other quite well.
