Dear experts, please take a look at the following: There is a wastewater treatment plant where, due to process requirements, pure methanol needs to be added to the tanks. The plant has a 15-cubic-meter storage tank, but the space available is limited, so it’s difficult to find a suitable location for it. Could you please suggest some solutions? 1. Can it be placed on the regulation tank that has a concrete cover? There is a large regulation tank in the plant, with a ground level of 4.15; since it’s covered, can the tank be placed directly on top of it? Can fire protection and explosion prevention requirements be met? 2. If a regulating tank cannot be used, then build a storage tank room next to it, with sewage tanks all around it (free of oil). What is the fire separation distance required from these tanks? Thank you!

This relates to the internal layout of the sewage treatment plant facility; you can refer to Petrochemical Code Table 5.2.1 for guidance. It is recommended not to place it above the equalization tank; it can be arranged in accordance with the other process equipment listed in the table.
This sewage treatment plant is not built within the factory; it is located on a separate site outside, far away from the factory. Additionally, could the fire separation distance be reduced by 50% by using an underground installation? Thank you!
