If I choose a computer, do I still need an optical drive? It seems the optical drive isn’t very useful, and it breaks down after a short while, only adding to the weight
No thanks. Now USB drives can solve it

I don’t think so; it’s due to inertia. Just like when buying pork, if you think there’s too much skin on it, you still have to buy it anyway and then cut off the skin and discard it. . .
Unless all the USB ports are broken, there’s no need for an optical drive; you can just borrow someone else’s computer to make a copy
No need, I’m already on foot; optical drives are completely useless these days!
