For heat exchangers that require certification and inspection, can the tube sheet be designed as a thin-type tube sheet?
As long as the minimum thickness requirement for the tube sheet specified in the standards is met and the calculations are satisfactory, it is acceptable.
It should be designed in accordance with the design specifications; the design parameters cannot be changed arbitrarily, otherwise what will happen if an accident occurs?
As long as the thickness meets the strength calculation requirements, it’s fine; be sure to take into account the double-sided corrosion margin.
