At 2:50 a.m. on June 25, the city’s public security bureau’s 119 emergency service received a report that the electricity meter box on the ground floor of one of the buildings in the Xiguan Hutun residential complex in Zhengzhou City had caught fire. The fire department arrived promptly, and the fire has now been extinguished. According to preliminary information, as of the time of this report, 9 people have died and 5 have been injured; the injured have been taken to hospitals for treatment. The cause of the fire and the number of casualties are under further investigation.
