As the title suggests, I checked the acceptance standards for steel structures; it states H/1000. Since this value exceeds the standard, is there a significant safety risk? There is also significant bending in the steel structure bracings (2500 bent by 50); it’s not clear whether this is caused by the tilting of the tower
It’s Super Ra. The likely reasons are: 1. Insufficient post-weld heat treatment, 2. No heat treatment was carried out ; 3. The quality control during the welding process is not strict enough ; 4. Reasons such as the welding process not being finalized.
I forgot to mention that our steel structure tower was built 8 years ago, and it passed the inspection at that time; it’s only now that it has been found to be significantly tilted. Is there any safety risk associated with this? Are there any good improvement measures?
Regarding what Ta said eight years ago, one can only say that it depends on luck in the future; regular measurements should be taken, as it’s likely to get worse over time. It might be necessary to attach strain gauges for testing purposes; I’m not sure how serious the risks are, so it’s better to be cautious.
