Liquid entrainment problem in centrifugal compressors

Our factory operates an alkylation plant, and we use a centrifugal compressor as the refrigeration compressor. Today, I read in some materials that a low pressure in the split-vessel or flash tank can cause the liquid level in the separation tank to rise, leading to liquid entering the compressor. I’m not quite sure why this is the case; from which perspective should this problem be analyzed? Could everyone please help answer this? I have another question as well. What are the factors that affect liquid carryover in compressors? Please give a detailed explanation; thank you here.
