Among the batch of flanges purchased by the company, in some of the bolt holes the thread depth was not properly formed, and some holes were misaligned; all of this results in a reduced length to which the bolts can extend into those holes. How much of a reduction is acceptable? Could an expert provide an algorithm for this? The bolts are subject only to tensile stress
Contact the manufacturer directly; this is a case of substandard product quality.
I didn’t pay attention to this during the inspection; the part had already been heat-treated and pressure-tested. It was only when the workers were installing the emergency shut-off valve that this issue was discovered
If quality issues arise during the equipment’s warranty period, it is possible to report these quality problems to the manufacturer.
This has already been reported to the manufacturer. The key question is: since the tank has reached this stage of construction, does it need to have the welded flanges removed? I want to know how to calculate how much the bolts need to extend to meet the requirements. The design pressure for the tank is 1.91 MPa; the bolts are of size 8–M16, the depth of the bolt holes is 26, and the length of the thread is 18. I tried it out, and the bolts seem to need to extend about 12 units inside the tank
