The best approach is to install a drain valve at the lowest point of the recess, along with nitrogen purging. Or vacuum fitting.
If the pipeline in the recess is at a height of about six meters above the ground, how is it appropriate to drain the pipeline and position the valves?
The drain valve should of course be installed there, as close as possible to the main pipeline, in order to reduce accumulation of material and minimize any negative effects. Since this valve is operated infrequently and is only used during maintenance or shutdown periods, a small platform is needed, tailored to the specific conditions, to facilitate operation.
The first valve is installed near the lowest point of the recess; an 8-shaped blind plate is placed below this valve. Another valve is added before connecting to the waste oil line. When operations are stopped and all material from the main pipe has been removed, both valves are opened to drain the oil from the recess. Afterwards, nitrogen is introduced from the main pipe for purging. Once cleaning is complete, the blind plate on the first valve is reinstalled in place.
