Someone knows what the function of the connection line between the feed to the fractionation tower and the control valve for the deethanized gasoline is? Is it used for returning oil or to shut off flow to the fractionation tower? Please give a definite answer, dear netizens

To address the issue of cross-line in the rectification tower, it is mainly used to deal with situations where there is an internal leak in the lower part or the middle reboiler of the rectification tower; in such cases, the entire rectification tower can be removed. (There are no shut-off valves at the inlets and outlets of the reboilers located in the middle and at the bottom of the distillation column; furthermore, these two reboilers are prone to internal leakage due to corrosion by wet hydrogen sulfide.)
It is meant to prevent internal leakage and facilitate handling, serving the same purpose as the cross-connections for the inlet and outlet of the main medium in the device.
