Do explosion-proof electrical devices have to be waterproof?
This is a good question. Explosion-proof electrical equipment has a specification related to sealing, namely IPXX, which indicates the level of sealing performance.

Explosion protection does not necessarily mean water resistance; they are two different concepts. For explosion-proof electrical equipment used outdoors, choosing a higher IP protection rating will meet the waterproofing requirements.
