Question: Can the iodine value of mixed fatty acids be determined and calculated using a gas chromatograph? The titration method is quite complicated. If possible, the model and price of the instrument? Please recommend some domestic gas chromatographs.

Alternative approaches are possible, but a comparison is needed. It is possible to calculate this by using the contents of various fatty acids and their respective iodine values from the meteorological charts, and to create a table; however, it is necessary to verify the deviations for each sample using titration.
If it is oil, the titration ratio is more accurate than that in the gas phase; if it is a fatty acid, the difference is not significant. What brand should be used for the gas phase? Domestic or imported brands are both acceptable; what matters most is the sensitivity of the chromatography column and the detector.
