I would like to ask the teachers: what does a fully welded structure for the heat exchanger shell mean? Does it refer to full welding without a device flange, with the pipe sheet welded directly? Or are those with equipment flanges and tube sheets also fully welded structures? I asked for advice. . Help needed
What does a fully welded structure for the heat exchanger housing mean? == It should be without flanges.
In my understanding, there are two ways to put it: 1. If it is a shell-and-tube heat exchanger, then the tube box, tube sheet, and shell are all welded together. 2. If it is a plate heat exchanger (not a detachable plate or semi-welded plate heat exchanger), it means that there is a tube box structure between the plate bundle and the tubes (similar to a shell-and-tube structure).
The type I encountered was of the shell-and-tube kind, so I simply built it in the way the teacher mentioned, welding everything together in one step.
In large refrigeration units, multi-stage compression is necessary to compensate for the pressure changes from the evaporator to the condenser. The properties of certain refrigerants need to correspond to this requirement. When two-stage or multi-stage compression is used, the refrigerant gas is cooled by adding flash gas from the expansion valve corresponding to each compression stage. Therefore, the number of expansion valves is the same as the number of compression stages. The refrigerant cycle is similar to the basic compression cycle, as shown in Figure 4-12.
