I would like to ask the experts: what should be the safe distance between this pipeline and the residential area? Which regulation or standard specifies this?
The Measures for the Protection of Oil and Gas Pipelines in Shandong Province stipulate that the safe distance between buried oil pipelines and residential areas must be no less than 15 meters, while the safe distance between natural gas and refined oil pipelines and residential areas must be no less than 30 meters. Article 15 of the Measures for the Protection of Oil and Gas Pipelines: No entity or individual shall engage in any of the following activities that pose a threat to the safety of pipeline facilities: (1) Moving, removing, or damaging pipeline facilities, as well as the signs and markers installed to ensure the safety of such facilities ； (II) Within a range of 5 meters on each side of the pipeline’s centerline: extracting soil, digging ponds, constructing channels or aquaculture facilities, discharging corrosive substances, piling up large quantities of materials, quarrying, building houses, constructing greenhouses, building livestock shelters, constructing other buildings or structures, or planting deep-rooted plants ； (III) Blasting, mountain excavation, and the construction of large-scale buildings or structures within 50 meters on either side of the pipeline’s centerline or outside the pipeline facility area ； (IV) Driving motor vehicles on the inspection paths above buried pipeline facilities, or walking on surface pipeline facilities and overhead pipeline facilities ； (5) Other acts that endanger the safety of pipeline facilities.
