This post was last edited by Thank goodness you're here on 2015-7-30 09:14. In the workplace, it’s common to see people taking sides; if you pick the right side, you can grow together, but what if you make the wrong choice? Moreover, without leadership that remains strong forever, there is no permanent power either; so what happens when the leadership changes? Everyone is welcome to discuss this: what should you do if you end up on the wrong side (it has nothing to do with me; it’s just a topic for discussion)?
It’s so troublesome – “Receive/Cancel reply notifications”; I have to edit the post every time. :L @ cleaner
In my opinion, work means doing one’s own duties diligently; there’s no need for forming cliques, and the question of being on the right or wrong side doesn’t exist...
Haven’t you ever wanted to be a leader? Don’t want to be taken seriously? More income, then?
Firstly, it’s a matter of deciding whether it’s worth taking a side. There are also many leaders who avoid taking on major responsibilities and shift them to others; they step forward when there’s recognition, take all the bonuses for themselves, run away first when trouble arises, and let their subordinates do the work. It’s actually pointless to take a side like this.
If I stop at the wrong station, won’t I have to do more work?
In such a situation, it’s impossible to take a side – it’s easiest to handle things professionally. Even if you do choose a side, you’ll still be busy running around, with no real benefits in the end. People are different from each other; people take on the blame and do the dirty work all in the hope of getting a chance for promotion. With a leader like this, by the end you’re just using an old rag that’s already been worn out
Just looking at this issue, I personally think one should hold on first to see if there’s any chance for improvement, because there are no permanent enemies – interests are what matter most. If you can’t go on, then just jump. But can you guarantee that switching to another unit will get the team working correctly? Just being correct in a timely manner – can that guarantee correctness forever? So the most important thing is to improve one’s own capabilities and become a role model.
Well, that’s true too; there are leaders of all kinds. However, under normal circumstances, people gather around the one on stage and stay away from the one off stage.
Yes, with excellent technical skills, you can become a key technical expert in the company – whoever takes charge will need your expertise.
It depends on whether the leader’s character is worth following; you need to consider both aspects of such a leader
