Hello, I would like to ask: what is generally a suitable location for installing flow meters on the inlet and outlet pipelines of pumps? Are there any standards for this? Thank you
This post was last edited by 68589544 on 2016-5-3 20:53. The length of the straight sections before and after the flow meter, as well as the ease of operation, need to be considered depending on the type of flow meter.
If the front and back of the pipeline are in the same plane, it is 10D at the front and 5D at the back; if they are in different planes, it’s roughly 12–15D at the front and 8D at the back.

The further away from the pump outlet, the better; 20–30D
Depending on the type of flow meter, different lengths of straight pipe section are required for installation. For specific details, refer to the flow meter installation manual.
The flowmeters we use are basically installed horizontally, with the pipe length typically being 10 units in front and 5 units behind. For specific design and installation, refer to the flow meter’s technical specifications, as requirements are generally outlined there.
