From January to May, 16 coal chemical projects in Ordos city (9.71, -0.18, -1.82%) resumed operations, with an investment of 8.762 billion yuan completed. Investments of 3.136 billion yuan were completed in May. By category, in terms of coal-to-oil production, the new Phase 2 and Phase 3 projects for Shenhua’s coal liquefaction facility, as well as Yitai’s 2 million-ton coal-to-oil project, involve a total investment of 75.357 billion yuan, with an overall capacity of 4.82 million tons. Investment of 190 million yuan was completed from January to May ； In terms of coal-to-gas production, the HuiNeng coal-to-gas project will continue to be developed, while 5 new coal-to-gas projects will be established by Beikong, Hebei JianTou, CNOOC, XinMeng, and Huaxing. The total investment for these projects amounts to 181.473 billion yuan, with a total capacity of 25.6 billion cubic meters. From January to May, 418 million yuan was invested in these projects (including costs related to the preliminary stages of development) ； In terms of coal-based methanol production, the Zhuozheng project with an annual capacity of 1.2 million tons of methanol is being expanded; the total investment in this project is 6.9 billion yuan, and preparations prior to commencement are underway ； In terms of coal-based fertilizer production, the Manshi and China Coal projects will be continued, with a total investment of 25.7 billion yuan. The overall capacity will be 2 million tons of synthetic ammonia and 4.3 million tons of urea; 0.48 billion yuan was invested from January to May ； In terms of coal-based ethylene glycol, a new 100,000-ton project by Shuangxin is being established, while the 500,000-ton project operated by Jiutai is being expanded. The total investment amounts to 8.57 billion yuan, with an overall production capacity of 600,000 tons. Investment of 10 million yuan was made from January to May ； In terms of coal-based olefins, the Tianhechuang coal deep processing project is under construction; the total investment for the first phase amounts to 32.468 billion yuan, with 6.429 billion yuan invested from January to May ； In terms of methanol-to-olefins production, the construction of two projects, Mengda and Jiutai, will continue; the total investment for these projects is 18.64 billion yuan, with an overall capacity of 1.1 million tons. Investment of 746 million yuan was made from January to May ； In terms of coal-based fine chemicals, the 1.2 million-ton fine chemicals project at Yitai is being continued, with a total investment of 19.187 billion yuan; 750 million yuan was invested from January to May ； In terms of coke and its further processing, the second phase of the Hengkun project for producing 1.3 million tons of rammed coke, as well as the 220,000 tons per year medium-temperature coal tar processing project of Yinen Chemical Co., Ltd., are under construction. The total investment in these projects amounts to 1.24 billion yuan, with 165 million yuan having been invested from January to May ； In other coal chemical sectors, there are two projects under construction: the Boda Site 1 million-ton caustic soda production facility, and the Jianfeng project for producing 1.6 billion cubic meters of coal-based syngas, along with related facilities for the efficient and clean utilization of raw coal.
