According to GB50184, all pipelines are required to undergo pressure testing, but are some pipelines that operate at atmospheric pressure, such as vent pipelines, also required to do so? My thinking is as follows: 1. It makes sense; if we don’t do it, there’s a risk of problems occurring if the pipe leaks halfway along. Conducting pressure tests is still useful. 2. If it is to be made, the end of such a pipe also needs to be sealed; otherwise it cannot be constructed.
For the leak test, the pipe ends must be sealed. There is also a weld-free testing option, but the price is a bit high.
Requirement 50184 stipulates that pressure-bearing pipes must undergo pressure testing, primarily to examine the mechanical strength of the welds and components; Non-pressure, atmospheric-pressure pipelines certainly do not require pressure testing, but they still need to undergo integrity testing based on the medium used.
There is no requirement in 50184 that pressure tests be conducted only for pressure-bearing pipes; please provide the basis for this.
