I don’t understand it – if there’s already ozone pollution, how can there still be holes in the ozone layer? What else can cause ozone pollution?

The ozone in the upper atmosphere is radiation-induced ozone; it is produced directly and is found in the stratosphere, where its concentration remains stable. Ozone caused by surface air pollution is a byproduct of photochemical pollution; it is formed when nitrogen oxides generate oxygen free radicals under light exposure, which then combine with oxygen molecules to form ozone. These two ozone generation mechanisms occur at different altitudes in the atmosphere.
So what should we do? It seems that we’re currently focused on dealing with the fog, and it probably isn’t easy to address this issue either
If it is a gasoline car, replace the three-way catalytic converter regularly. For diesel vehicles, a vehicle urea system is installed to eliminate nitrogen oxide emissions. There are already solutions, but car owners don’t want to spend extra money.
Actually, I think modern new energy vehicles are quite good; if the battery storage issue could be resolved, they would likely become very popular
