Experts say that for Class A and B liquid storage tanks, an accident pond can be provided based on the terrain’s natural flow, eliminating the need for a fire dike? Does the specification mention this? Which specification clause mentions it? Thank you!
\"Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises\" Article 5.2.10: Tank farms shall be equipped with fire dikes; however, for those located in hilly areas, the terrain can be utilized to create accident containment ponds, eliminating the need for fire dikes. Article 5.2.11 The effective volume within the fire dike shall comply with the following provisions: 1. Fixed-roof tanks. It should not be less than the volume of the largest storage tank within the tank group ; II. For floating roof tanks and internal floating roof tanks, it shall be no less than half of the capacity of the largest tank in the tank group ; III. When a fixed-roof tank is arranged in the same group as a floating-roof tank or an internal floating-roof tank, the larger value specified in items I and II above shall be adopted. Article 5.2.12 The distance from a vertical storage tank to the inner toe line of the fire dike shall not be less than half of the tank wall height ; The distance from the horizontal storage tank to the inner toe line of the fire dike should not be less than 3 m.
