The book states that, under normal circumstances, the hydrogen partial pressure at the reactor inlet equals the product of the reactor inlet pressure and the purity of the recycle hydrogen at the reactor inlet. Does this purity refer to the concentration of recycle hydrogen in the mixture after it has been mixed with the feedstock, or rather to the concentration of recycle hydrogen in the gas itself?

In my opinion, it should be the purity of the circulating hydrogen at the top of the liquid separation tank at the inlet of the cycle compressor.
It must be the concentration of hydrogen in the recycled hydrogen gas; in fact, I think it should be the purity of hydrogen resulting from the mixing of the newly added hydrogen with the recycled hydrogen that serves as the basis for calculation.

Well, it should be the concentration of hydrogen after mixing. I had come across information on this before when studying the effect of hydrogen partial pressure on catalyst properties.
