Can the detailed design be used for construction?

I have attended many preliminary design review meetings; these involve reviews by all the relevant professionals from the client side. After these reviews, the main details of the project are basically finalized, and many adjustments are made to the design during this process ； 2. It seems that not as many professionals are involved in the review phase after the basic design is completed; I’m not too sure about this since I haven’t attended any conferences. I have participated in the review of PIDs as a person from the process engineering field, and this involves some minor details related to the process itself, so it really shouldn’t take too much time ； 3. Two weeks before the construction drawings are finalized, we will conduct another review, which is also carried out by the process engineering team; its main purpose is to assess the rationality of the piping layout, and only after this review are the official construction drawings issued. After the equipment begins to be installed underground, there is often a process of coordination with the detailed design. In the past, our factory would request from the design institute detailed drawings of the fundamental structures and frameworks; this was done mainly to prepare the necessary materials in advance so as to meet the requirements of the construction schedule.

It’s just 3 steps: basic design BD, detailed design DD, and as-built drawings AS-built; the detailed design enables on-site construction. Therefore, the detailed design can serve as construction drawings.

Sure, the basic design, detailed design, preliminary design, and construction drawings can all be used as a basis for construction. With the approval stamp and pipe sealing stamp applied, there’s no need to worry about what the design specifies; just build according to the drawings.
