Question: 1. Are there any specific guidelines regarding the valid period of use for design standards? For example, there are two versions: HG/T21581-2010 and 2012. So, if the older standard is sufficient for production, can it be continued to be used? Isn’t it the case that once a new standard is introduced, it should be used starting from its implementation date? 2. In terms of safety management, if the old standards were in use during the on-site civil construction work, but now new standards apply with corresponding changes, then must the civil construction or installation issues at the site be rectified in accordance with the new standards?
It depends on what your design specifications require. In principle, the new standard should be used. But if the latest standards at that time were used during the project design phase, then it depends on the owner’s opinion; generally, no changes are needed, right? For reference only.
What if there are already new standards, but the previous version is still used during design? Is there no clear requirement stating that new ones must be used?

The old version had an expiration date. In engineering, to avoid such issues, for example, when the design phase has not reached its expiration date but the ordering/production stage has, and there is a significant difference in certain parameters between the new and old versions that affects the price, acceptance is naturally carried out according to the new standards. . . . . Therefore, the technical section of a standard request for quotation usually specifies “the latest valid version shall be used”. @jiaguoyun
