If it is possible to supply water directly to the boiler and allow flue gas to be discharged through a bypass flue pipe, the boiler can be kept running while performing repairs on the economizer; otherwise, the boiler must be shut down for repairs.
To address the damage to the economizer tubes in circulating fluidized bed boilers, the following measures should be taken: (1) Increase the guide vanes at the inlet of the induced draft fan to maintain a negative pressure in the furnace. (2) Increase the water inflow rate to maintain the drum water level. It can operate at a reduced load as appropriate. (3) If the leakage is severe and the water level cannot be maintained, the furnace must be shut down immediately. (4) After the boiler is shut down, if the water level does not rise even after increasing the water inflow, the water inflow should be stopped, and it is strictly prohibited to open the economizer recirculation valve. (5) After shutting down the furnace, one exhaust fan should be kept running; it should be stopped only after all the steam in the furnace has been removed.
Points 2 and 3 are well stated. One additional point: if there is a leak on the water side of the economizer, it is possible to seal the leak while the system is under pressure, thus avoiding the need to shut down the boiler.
