As the title suggests, what is the significance of injecting low-vapor-pressure aromatics in propane dehydrogenation?
Based on the principle of like dissolves like, UOP recommends injecting it once a month to remove the fouling attached to the compressor inlet and the tube bundles of the inter-stage heat exchangers
The compression section of the reaction products is also equipped with a solvent injection tank; during operation, heavy aromatic solvents (p-diethylbenzene) are fed in intermittently and in batches into the inlet of the material cooler, in order to dissolve the coking that has accumulated on the tubes of the heat exchanger and thus maintain its heat exchange efficiency. The solvent is then collected in the gas-liquid separators located before the inlet of each compressor stage.
