The vacuum level of a water ring vacuum pump has decreased – how can one find the cause using simple methods?
There are 4 reasons for the low normal vacuum level: First: The connected pipes or tanks are not sealed properly. Second: The water inflow rate to the vacuum pump is low, causing the pump not to operate at full capacity. Third: Corrosion or scaling inside the vacuum pump causes an excessive gap between the pump disk and the impeller. Fourth: The vacuum gauge is broken. Check for any leaks, increase the water flow rate as long as the motor is not overloaded with current, and after shutting down the pump, open the observation windows on both sides of it to check for corrosion or scaling inside the pump.
