Why does dicyclopentadiene darken in color after being left for some time?

This substance is too reactive; even at low temperatures it can only remain stable for two to three months, and at room temperature its stability is even lower – it undergoes self-polymerization, resulting in the formation of colored groups

If dicyclopentadiene is in liquid form, stabilizers need to be added, as this substance deteriorates when its temperature rises. If it is solid dicyclopentadiene, it is more stable
