Chongqing’s shale gas production capacity will exceed 7 billion cubic meters. With the completion and operation of the Yuzui Station on the Yanjia to Yuzui gas transmission pipeline project operated by Chongqing Gas Group, residents in Chongqing’s urban area have begun to use shale gas sourced from Sinopec’s Fuling shale gas field. Sinopec’s Chongqing Fuling shale gas field is the first large-scale shale gas field outside North America to be put into commercial production, and it now has a production capacity of 5 billion cubic meters per year. It is understood that as of now, this gas field has produced approximately 4 billion cubic meters of shale gas in total, with a daily production volume of over 15 million cubic meters. It is understood that last June, the shale gas from Fuling was transported via Sinopec’s Chengdu-East Gas Pipeline to regions in Central, East, and South China for sale. The introduction of shale gas to household users in Chongqing’s urban area has finally enabled this region, which serves as the main hub for shale gas development, to make use of shale gas right at home, thereby effectively enhancing the gas supply capacity in Chongqing’s urban area. Reporters learned from the 2016 Chongqing Municipal Conference on Land and Housing Management that Chongqing will continue to advance the exploration and development of shale gas this year, aiming to raise its shale gas production capacity to over 7 billion cubic meters. Will large voids form in the future, causing geological disasters?
Hehe, I’m not too familiar with this technology. Is it very different from oil extraction? ?
