The current heat source uses a 40% ethylene glycol aqueous solution, which operates at 60°C on a continuous basis. After operating for some time, severe corrosion occurs in the pipes. According to information found online, ethylene glycol can be oxidized into oxalic acid; I’m not sure what anti-corrosive agent could be used to mitigate this corrosion. What material is the pipeline made of? In the past, when performing PET processes, the temperature ranged from room temperature to 100°C, and ordinary stainless steel was used – no corrosion was ever observed! I have been using 35% concentration ethylene glycol as a refrigerant for cooling purposes for 5 years now; the operating temperature range is from -15 to 25°C. The material used is ordinary carbon steel, and no severe corrosion has been observed. Is it possible that other acidic substances have mixed in? ?
Adding corrosion inhibitors does not solve the problem at its root; it only delays the corrosion process. Spraying with Teflon ETFE can be used as a solution.

Ethylene glycol can easily oxidize to form oxalic acid; our company encountered this problem in the past. Later, we started using additives produced by Chaoxiong Yangda Chemical to enhance the antioxidant properties of the ethylene glycol solution, and no corrosion has occurred since then, even after 3 years of use.
