It is completely possible to do so. The main tasks involve checking whether the partition plates inside the water chamber of the head are deformed or leaking, as well as whether there is any erosion; testing for defects is also carried out. When inspecting the pipe ends of the tube sheet, it is necessary to remove the water chamber head. The connection between the head and the tube sheet is usually by flanges. Of course, it is also possible to conduct inspections by removing the manhole on the water chamber head, but in the case of small heat exchangers, where the volume of the water chamber is small, there is generally no manhole.
There is no problem with the maintenance. Now, high-pressure heaters are no longer used in small and medium-sized boilers, as they save energy without reducing costs.
