Our feed pump for ethylene oxide is a canned motor pump. During a inspection by the safety supervision agency, it was found that our ethylene oxide pump lacks measures to prevent idling and no-output operation, as well as mechanisms for automatic shutdown in case of high temperatures. May I ask how we should make the necessary corrections?
Generally, large compressors have high-temperature alarm interlocks for the stator, rotor, and bearings; do shielded pumps have similar interlocks?
Generally, when a shielded pump runs idle, it will definitely get damaged. The lack of output may be due to issues such as cavitation. Are there any interlocks that can be used for control? Is it possible to set up relevant interlocks based on current levels?
I’ve heard that BASF has used such shielded pumps with vibration and temperature alarms; do you know anything about that?
The Work Safety Bureau is really ridiculous – they oversee things to such an extent; why not just take control of the factory’s daily operations as well? A bunch of officials who don’t understand the value of daily necessities just because they don’t have to manage a household!
