The media inside the pipes are C1-C4 light hydrocarbon gases, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen, etc. Corrosive agents include, in addition to hydrogen sulfide, water as well; gas pipelines usually contain water, and this leads to corrosion either due to water alone or as a result of hydrogen sulfide combined with water, which forms sulfuric acid that causes corrosion
